How to Update Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to Android 7.1.1

In spite of being released in 2013, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 can still install latest apps, features. The Note 3 has been stopped at Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update, which is quite hopeless for those who are using it. However, the Note 3 users can now taste the smoother and more powerful of Android 7.1.1 version on your handset with Custom LineageOS ROM. This new ROM will add the newest features of Android 7.1.1 Nougat on your Note 3. So if you’d like to upgrade you smartphone, we shall show you step-by-step guide to flash the custom ROM on your Galaxy Note 3.



However, before flashing this Rom, you need to meet some pre-requirements. First, you need to make sure the latest Custom Recovery image is already installed on your device. Next, enable the USB Debugging option in your device. Keep at least 50% battery left to avoid unexpected issue during installing the custom ROM. Another important thing is making a full back so that any important data will not be losen. Finally, this update is only for the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. If you flash this Custom ROM file in any other device, it might get bricked.

Steps to Flash LineageOS ROM on Galaxy Note 3
  • ·        First of all, download the Android 7.1.1 LineageOS ROM and Gapps file for your Galaxy Note 3.
  • ·        Then plug your Note 3 to the PC using a USB cable and move both the Rom and Gapps files to the SD card of your device. Next, switch off your Smartphone, and boot it into recovery mode by pressing and holding its Home, Volume up and Powerbutton for a few seconds. After that, press the Volume Down button to boot your device in custom recovery mode.

  • ·        Here, choose wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache options.
  • ·        Then select “Install .zip from SD Card” and tap on the ROM and Gapps files that you moved to your SD card.
  • ·        Now, swipe to Install and flash continuously two files on your Galaxy Note 3 one after another.
  • ·        Once done, retturn to the recovery menu and select “reboot system now”.
