Android 7.1.2 AOSPA 7.3.0 ROM For Honor 9

Dear all Honor 9 users! If you feel your device is running on an outdated Android version, there is a new Android 7.1.2 custom AOSPA ROM for your handset. This ROM is based on the latest AOSPA 7.3.0 build and comes with best Android Nougat features. Here are the new features in this ROM:

So, if you are interested the custom ROM, here is a step-by-step guide to lead you through the update. Of course, it’s bit tough for the newbies, but that doesn’t mean the new AOSPA 7.3.0 ROM is not for you.

Before flashing the Custom ROM, you need to install a custom recovery (TWRP or CWM) for your Honor 9. Also remember to make a full backup of your important data. You should install the Honor 9drivers on your PC to easily connect it to your phone. Charge your phone’s battery to at least 50% to get rid of unexpected shutdown issue during the update. If not, your device may get bricked.

The new AOSPA 7.3.0 ROM is only for the Honor 9 smartphone, so you should not use it on any other devices. It’s all your responsibility to proceed to the update as we shall never take responsibility if any issue or bug created during the update.
Steps to Update Android 7.1.2 AOSPA 7.3.0 ROM on Honor 9
  • First, download AOSPA 7.3.0 ROM Custom ROM file for your Honor 9 and then the Gapps file (download the latest build)
  • Next, enable the USB Debugging option by going to Settings> Developer Options.
  • Now, plug your phone to your PC with the help of USB cable & transfer both the downloaded files to the internal storage/sd card of your device.
  • Then switch off your Honor 9, detach the USB cable and boot it into Recovery mode.
  • Here, make wipes by choosing the “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” option and then “Wipe Cache Partition”.
  • Now, install the downloaded files on your handset. To start installation, tap on the “install” and select the Custom ROM file that you moved in.
  • Then, start the installation process. Wait until it finishes.
  • Follow the same procedure to install Gapps file on your Honor 9.
  • After the installation is successful, return to the Recovery mode menu, and select “reboot now”.
That’s all you have to do. Your Honor 9 will start normally without any issues. Once done, you can browse through your phone to experience the Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
